My Deeper Story.

Hi, I'm Janessa—a.k.a. the Deeper Stories Team!

I was born and raised on the island of Oʻahu, where the ocean has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up surfing, exploring the shoreline, and diving for shells long before I knew there was a name for freediving. My experience as a junior lifeguard helped shape a deep respect for the ocean and an understanding that every day in the water calls for awareness, preparation, and good judgment.

I’ve been a certified freediver for over three years, and I continue to train and learn. Freediving has taught me that knowing your limits is just as important as developing your skills. I never dive alone, and I believe no dive is worth pushing beyond what your body or the conditions allow.

At Deeper Stories, I want guests to feel welcome to explore, build confidence, and connect with the water. Safety guides how I plan each experience, and I encourage everyone who joins us to keep learning, ask questions, and approach nature with the respect it deserves.
